Finds File and Folder Activity
PC File Tracker finds files and folders installed by software, downloaded from the Internet, or placed on computer disks by users.
If you ever want to uninstall a program, then PC File Tracker should show you the names and locations of files that the program
placed on your computer disk(s) that you may delete (if they aren't used by any other programs).
If your computer is acting strangely, and you track files and folders, PC File Tracker report information should show you files add-
ed to, modified, renamed, or moved on, or deleted from, your computer disk(s). By inspecting each one, you might determine the
cause of the problem. If you ever move or delete a file by mistake and you're not sure which file you moved or deleted (it probably
happens to more people than you might guess), you may use PC File Tracker to determine the previous location of the file (and the
file's new location if the file was moved).
Helps Manage Files
PC File Tracker can help personal computer users manage their disk files (and folders). Computers typically become cluttered
with files that won't ever be used. For example, files that aren't deleted by an uninstall program that supposedly uninstalled the pro-
gram. A lot of disk space, e.g., 20 MB or more, may be used by files that weren't deleted by an uninstall program.
PC File Tracker creates a report that includes data about created, copied, modified, renamed, and deleted files and folders. The da-
ta may help you manage files, e.g., it might show you names and locations of backup files that you might delete to make more free
disk space. The report data also shows the name and location of non-temporary files and folders that come with newly installed
programs. If you install software and make a copy of the file that contains the report, naming it a name that references the in-
stalled software, you will have file and folder documentation that you may refer to if (1) you want to uninstall the software (the
documentation should show you potential files to delete) or (2) the software causes problems with your computer because a file in-
stalled by it is malware (the documentation should show information about the beginning files that the software added to your com-
puter disk(s)).
Protects Privacy
If you have a business and use the Internet, spyware may record the web address of each web site you visit, maybe showing
someone your suppliers and customers. Keyloggers record pressed keyboard keys, and the information may be sent to a web
site(s) unawares. Spyware can open a "backdoor" to unprotected computers (and sometimes even protected computers), allowing a
hacker to take control of the computer (and have access to private files). PC File Tracker can find newly installed files that might
be spyware files, e.g., .DLL, .CLASS, and .OCX files, that regular spyware detection programs don't find because the names of
the files aren't familiar to them.
Finds Dangerous Files
When trouble with a computer system is caused by a virus, worm, or spyware file, PC File Tracker may be used to find and re-
name the troublesome file (and it may help with finding any files that were altered by it). It can find user specified newly created or
modified files, and find and also group newly created or modified program files, for example, .EXE, .COM, and .DLL file types
(program files may be dangerous). Grouping files makes finding report information about specific files easier. PC File Tracker
groups more than seventy types of program files because each of them might be a virus, worm, or spyware file.
System Troubleshooting Tool
If a problem with your computer system occurs, PC File Tracker may help you determine the programs that were running when
the problem occurred. PC File Tracker can also find unexpected creations of files, and modifications and deletions of files used by
programs, helping to troubleshoot computer problems.

Event Reminder
You won't need to sporadically check the time to prevent being late to a meeting when you use Computer Timer, because the tim-
er can do the time checking for you.
Usage Timer
Some Internet Service Providers (ISP's) increase charges for Internet usage when their service is used for more time. Computer
Timer can show users of such services when a time interval is about to change to a more expensive interval.
Alarm Clock Sounder
Computer Timer may be used as an alarm clock. Having a computer alarm clock may be useful to you if you have a portable com-
puter that you take with you on trips.
